Method
- Place in a large bowl the strawberries and sprinkle with sugar. Stir and let it rest covered in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl or the bowl of a KitchenAid with the whisk attachment, add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Whisk at medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
- In a large glass place a couple of tablespoons of chantilly cream, a layer of strawberries, and a layer of chantilly.
Notes
- Tip 1: Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s best consumed within two days to maintain the texture of the cream.
- Tip 2: Unfortunately, freezing is not recommended for this dessert, as the texture of the whipped cream will change upon thawing.
- Tip 3: Try substituting other berries, like blueberries or raspberries, for a mixed berry chantilly. You can experiment with different flavors too, such as lemon zest in the cream.
- Tip 4: Consider serving Chantilly Strawberries alongside angel food cake or over pancakes for a delicious brunch option.
