Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Begin by gathering all the ingredients listed in your recipe. Ensure everything is fresh, especially the garlic. The quality of your ingredients will directly affect the outcome, so it’s worth spending a little extra on good olive oil.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine 1/4 cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. This combination of flavors will create a rich and tasty marinade.
  3. Using a whisk, mix all the ingredients together until they are well combined. You'll know it’s ready when the honey is fully dissolved and the marinade has a smooth consistency.
  4. Now, take your chicken drumsticks and place them in either a large bowl or a ziplock bag. If using a bowl, ensure it’s deep enough to allow the drumsticks to be submerged in the marinade.
  5. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated thoroughly. If you’re using a ziplock bag, seal it tightly and massage the bag gently to distribute the marinade evenly over the chicken.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or seal the ziplock bag, and place it in the refrigerator. It's best to let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, but if you have time, aim for 4 hours or even overnight for deeper flavor.
  7. When you’re ready to cook, preheat your grill or oven. If grilling, set it to medium heat, and if using an oven, preheat it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. You can discard the leftover marinade, as it’s unsafe to reuse.
  9. Cook the chicken drumsticks for about 35 to 45 minutes, turning occasionally, until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit and are nicely browned.
  10. Once cooked, let the drumsticks rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps retain juices and ensures each bite is succulent.
