Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Chicken
  • 1.5 cups Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 4 pieces Green Onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground White Pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil (optional, for added flavor)
  • Wonton Wrappers
  • Water (for sealing)
  • Peanut Oil (or vegetable oil for frying)

Equipment

  • COOKLOVER Nonstick Saute Pan Induction Skillet with lid 9.5 inch

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, cabbage, onion, green onions, salt, sugar, soy sauce, ground white pepper, sesame oil, and garlic. Mix thoroughly with your hands or a spoon until all the ingredients are evenly combined and the mixture looks cohesive.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers and keep them covered with a damp cloth to prevent them from drying out. Place a small bowl of water nearby for sealing the edges.
  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper. Lightly brush the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, and press out any air pockets before sealing the edges tightly.
  4. Heat enough oil in a deep skillet or wok to fully submerge the wontons. Bring the oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wontons in small batches, turning occasionally, for 5 to 6 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
  5. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce. Perfect as an appetizer or snack!

Notes

  • Tip 1: Don’t overfill the wontons! Stick to 1 teaspoon per wrapper to ensure they seal properly.
  • Tip 2: Air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes for a healthier option.
  • Tip 3: Freeze uncooked wontons and fry straight from frozen, adding an extra minute to the cooking time.
  • Tip 4: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Tip 5: Serve with a variety of dipping sauces to enhance the flavor.
