Method
- Preheat your outdoor grill to high. This is crucial for achieving that perfect grill mark and crispy exterior on your chicken breasts.
- Pound out the chicken breasts so they are of even thickness. This helps them cook uniformly.
- Rub the chicken with olive oil, garlic salt, and black pepper. This seasoning will enhance the flavor and create a lovely crust.
- Lightly grease the grill to prevent sticking. A well-greased surface will ensure your chicken comes off easily.
- Place the chicken breasts onto the hot grill. Reduce the heat to medium and cover. Cook for about five minutes.
- Remove the lid and flip the chicken breasts. Top each piece with two tablespoons of marinara, one slice of mozzarella cheese, and two tablespoons of parmesan cheese.
- Place the split kaiser rolls cut side down on the grill. Close the lid and cook for one to two minutes until they are golden brown.
- Remove the rolls from the grill. Spread one tablespoon of butter on each cut side and rub generously with the peeled garlic clove.
- Check the chicken after another three to five minutes or until it’s thoroughly cooked. The cheese should be melted and bubbly.
- Place the chicken between the garlic buttered buns, topping with more cheese, marinara, and optionally, some freshly torn basil. Serve immediately!
