Ingredients
  

  • 28 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • to taste Fresh basil leaves optional, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with Kosher salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and dried oregano.
  6. Place the seared chicken in an oven-safe dish and spread the ricotta mixture over each piece.
  7. Pour the marinara sauce on top of the chicken.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  10. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  11. Garnish with basil leaves if desired.
