Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with Kosher salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and dried oregano.
Place the seared chicken in an oven-safe dish and spread the ricotta mixture over each piece.
Pour the marinara sauce on top of the chicken.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
Garnish with basil leaves if desired.
