  • 1 package Devil's Food Cake Mix 18.25 oz
  • 1 can Cherry Pie Filling 21 oz
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
  • 3 eggs Eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Milk
  • 5 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon Almond Extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Devil's Food Cake Mix, Cherry Pie Filling, Almond Extract, and Eggs. Mix until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Prepare the topping in a saucepan by combining Sugar, Milk, and Butter. Bring to a boil while stirring.
  6. Remove from heat, stir in Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips and Almond Extract until smooth.
  7. Pour the topping over the warm bars, spreading it evenly.
  8. Cool for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
