Ingredients
  

  • 1 Funfetti or white cake mix Add eggs, oil, and water as per package instructions.
  • 1 One 4-color box food coloring For vibrant cake colors.
  • Shortening and flour To grease the Bundt cake pan.
  • 1 Dark chocolate cake mix Add eggs, oil, and water as per package instructions.
  • Candy melts For dipping or decorating.
  • 1 cup Sweetened coconut flakes For nest decoration.
  • ½ cup Semi sweet chocolate chips For chocolate drizzle.
  • ½ cup Heavy whipping cream For chocolate drizzle.
  • 12 ounce Chocolate candy eggs For filling the cake.
  • 1 each 3-inch tall chocolate bunny For decoration.
  • Pastel or Easter-colored sprinkles For decoration.

Equipment

  • 15x10x1-inch Jelly Roll Pan
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Easter themed cookie cutters
  • 12 cup bundt cake pan
  • Microwave-Safe Bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a jelly roll pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Mix the Funfetti cake mix according to package instructions and divide into bowls with food coloring.
  3. Spoon the colored batters into the pan, swirling gently.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters from the cooled cake.
  6. Grease a bundt pan with shortening and flour.
  7. Prepare dark chocolate cake mix and pour half into the bundt pan.
  8. Stand the cake cutouts upside down in the batter in the bundt pan.
  9. Pour remaining batter over the cutouts. Bake and cool.
  10. Prepare chocolate drizzle with melted chocolate and cream.
  11. Fill the center with coconut and decorate with eggs and a bunny!

Notes

  • Making mini cakes: Use leftover cake for fun mini treats, if desired!
  • Using frosting: Instead of candy melts, you can use store-bought frosting.
