- In a medium mixing bowl, use a hand mixer on low speed to combine the whole milk and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream and pure vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir gently to combine.
- Slice open your vanilla bean, scrape out seeds and add to the mixture. Stir well.
- Turn on your ice cream maker and pour the mixture into the freezer bowl. Let mix until thickened, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Mix in your crushed Oreo cookies carefully.
- If a firmer consistency is desired, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place in the freezer for about 2 hours.
- Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.
- Serve in bowls, topped with extra crushed Oreo cookies if desired.
