Ingredients
  

  • 1-1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1-1/8 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 16 Oreo sandwich cookies

Method
 

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, use a hand mixer on low speed to combine the whole milk and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the heavy cream and pure vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Slice open your vanilla bean, scrape out seeds and add to the mixture. Stir well.
  4. Turn on your ice cream maker and pour the mixture into the freezer bowl. Let mix until thickened, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  5. Mix in your crushed Oreo cookies carefully.
  6. If a firmer consistency is desired, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place in the freezer for about 2 hours.
  7. Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve in bowls, topped with extra crushed Oreo cookies if desired.
