- 1. Start by preparing the Greek yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, grated garlic, parsley, mint, and kosher salt. Mix everything together until it’s well combined. This sauce will be a refreshing addition to your burgers and can be refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.
- 2. Next, take a large mixing bowl and add the ground chicken, crumbled feta cheese, finely diced red bell pepper, minced mint, minced parsley, kosher salt, and black pepper. Using your hands, mix the ingredients together until they are thoroughly combined. Be careful not to overmix, as that can lead to dense burgers.
- 3. Once your mixture is ready, divide it into four equal portions and form each portion into a patty. Make sure they are roughly the same size for even cooking. You can press a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing up while cooking.
- 4. For cooking on the stovetop, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, place the patties into the skillet. Cook for about five minutes on each side, making sure the patties are golden brown and fully cooked through (they should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F).
- 5. If you prefer grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Add the patties to the grill and cook them for approximately ten minutes, flipping halfway through. Again, you’ll want to ensure they’re firm and cooked to the proper temperature.
- 6. Finally, it’s time to assemble your burgers! Take your buns and spread a generous amount of the Greek yogurt sauce on the top and bottom. Place the cooked patties on the buns and add any additional toppings you like, such as lettuce or pickled red onions. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Try to allow the patties to rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain their juices. Fresh herbs make a huge difference in flavor. If you’re using a grill, avoid flipping the patties too often to achieve beautiful grill marks. You can add a pinch of smoked paprika or cumin to the chicken mixture for an extra flavor boost.
