Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the bottom pie crust on a lightly floured surface.
- Add the homemade cherry pie filling to the crust.
- Roll out the top crust and place it over the filling.
- Trim the edges and crimp them to seal the pie.
- Cut slits into the top crust.
- Whisk together the egg and water and brush over the top crust.
- Sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
- Let cool before serving.
