Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Lightly grease an ovenproof skillet or baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Divide the ground beef into four equal portions.
Shape each portion into a patty using either a patty shaper or your hands.
Place the patties in the cast iron pan.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and separate the burgers.
If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty and return to the turned-off oven. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Place each burger on a bun. Top with your favorite condiments, lettuce, and tomato slices. Serve immediately.
